The Case Study on Twitter
Twitter is a very valuable tool to many of us. It has been used for many things like for emergencies. Without a doubt, Twitter can actually save lives. During the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, eyewitnesses sent about 16 tweets per second to inform their friends and family about what was going on. Twitter users on the ground helped compile a list of the dead and injured. Through Twitter, the police could know vital information to save the hostages and in determining the success of the rescue mission.
Inspirational Use of Twitter
By using Twiter, we can actually assist others in need! Do you know that after Haiti was struck by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake, the whole world raised funds for Haiti? Using Twitter and Facebook, many people passed messages to each other to donate. And all of them donated! Then, a homeless man, who had already lost his job, gives a clean pair of socks to many homeless people whom he meets after agreeing to meet up with them through Twitter. Homeless but still charitable! Next, flood-hit Australia. The New Zealand Red Cross thanked everyone who had donated to help Ausralia! Lastly, tornado-struck United States. Some people warned others of another possible tornado that may occur causing people to evacuate and move to a safer area preventing the loss of any lives!

Hi again!
This blog will be about Cyber Wellness. It really is important if we are using social networking sites. I will give you tips on how to keep yourself safe from cyberbullies and the lot. Firstly, NEVER reveal any personal information to anyone. You will be vunerable to many cyberbullies as well as to people who may hurt you or your loved ones. Then, you never know what kind of strangers you might meet online. Some of them could be physcopaths who are searching for their next potential victim. So remember to always look into the background of them. NEVER make friends with strangers who out of the blue makes friends with you. Next, don't try to make enemies online. You can never know what can happen to you. Especially if it is your friend that you are enemies with. He or she can actually ask someone else to cyberbully you as your friend knows all the information about you if you shared them with them. Lastly, ALWAYS be careful when you are using computers in Internet Cafes or when you are using a public computer. The next user can find information about you and even gain access into your social networking sites accounts in case you forgot to log out from them.

Dangers of Using Twitter
From my first post, I said that Twitter is important to all of us as it updates us on the latest buzz. However what some people don't realise are the dangers of using Twitter. Firstly, we share a lot of information through Twitter. Just like in Facebook, the information we share with other people can still be viewed by others although we have privatised the information as there is no 100% chance that the information is completely private. Even when I use Twitter or Facebook, I don't share any personal information with anyone although they are my friends. Secondly, we don't know of any hidden costs when we use Twitter. Even if Twitter asks us to create an account with them and they say its free, we should actually think twice before creating the account. Thirdly, according to a University of Southern California study, streams of information provided by Twitter are too fast for our brain's "Moral Compass" to process and can actually harm young people's moral development. The information may be inappropriate for them and cause them to think negatively about things like for example, religious views. Lastly, people can actually be cyberbullied by others if we are not careful or if people think we are potential victims especially underaged people. If we indicate our age or where we live, people who have personal vendettas or simply want to stalk us, can do so. We are actually exposing ourselves to the cyberworld.
